012 : Fredrick Stanley Star


It’s an icy cold day in late October and leaves cover every inch of the garden. Across the street kids are being picked up by their parents from school, excited that it’s already dark; while at the Ivy League everyone stands shivering, wrapped up in scarves and trying to keep warm.

When Fredrick Stanley Star turn up they look like carol singers. Decked head to toe in chunky knitwear, they’re already excited by the prospect of Christmas. But rather than a premature rendition of Good King Wenceslas, we’re treated to three gospel-folk numbers warm enough to melt the iciest heart, and suddenly we remember what’s so wonderful about winter time…
