Norwegian 4 piece The New Wine hail from the same town that has produced fellow discerning synth poppers The Whitest Boy Alive and Casiokids, the beautiful and unlikely musical Mecca of Bergen. Quite why Bergen continues to produce so many classy and dancable pop exports remains a mystery, afterall, in the 90s the town was better known for it's church burning black metal scene! These days, the kids of Bergen have abandoned their inverted crucifixes and cans of bio-diesel in favour of the Casio keyboard and we can all breathe a big sigh of relief.

The New Wine make Quintesentially Norwegian dance music and Casios feature highly! A-side Dragon is a perfect balance of slick disco beats, ultra cool synth riffs and a charming pop sensibility, whilst B-side Bubble was recorded live by NRK at Hove Festival 2009 and really shows off the bands natural musicianship. Just remind yourself half way through that this is a live recording!
